Krister Eklund always liked playing the keyboard in the music classes at school. But that wasn't enough, because he always dreamed of making his own music. He decided to borrow some piano books from the local library and learned to play some basic chords on an antique Yamaha electric piano. He first started making his own music in the late 90s with the Playstation's "Music"-game. He continued with "Music 2000" on Playstation and also tried a few tracker programs on PC, which he never liked quite as much. Finally in 2004 he discovered Propellerhead Reason. He made several dance tracks with Reason under the artist name Profion. These tracks were released for free on mikseri.net.

Mikko Englund first started with an acoustic guitar which he played for a few years in the late 90s. There was a break of few years until he also discovered Propellerhead Reason. Through his musical hobbies he found himself studying audio technology and acoustics at the Helsinki University of Technology with audio hardware and software as his main interests.

Krister and Mikko met at a mutual friend's party and began talking about music production. They realized they were both making electronic music and decided to try to make something together. Now, they are known by the name Lund & Lund.
